Finley Beach House by Bora Architects
The shoreline of Oregon will be as pretty as in which gets with the long beaches protected by the cliffs forested with old trees. Any direction you choose to look in, you’ll see beautiful sights of nature. in which will be what drew the Finley family to chose the coast of Oregon as their homeland. The Finley Beach House or otherwise known as the 360 House, you’ll see why inside the pictures below, will be a contemporary glass residence built on the edge of the forest, overlooking the Pacific Ocean as well as Cannon Beach. The 3,300 sq ft residence was completed by the Portland firm Bora Architects. The result? You’ll see in which inside the pictures below.
Through the architects: “Set at the edge of Oregon’s coastal forest, this particular glass house provides commanding beach views. Built as a weekend getaway for a young family seeking communion with nature, the space will be an antidote to the hectic buzz of urban living.”
Through the architects: “The central challenge we faced was finding a way to fit this particular home into a sensitive site without destroying the qualities in which initially drew our clients here. in which was vital to maximize ocean views through the main living areas while keeping height within the tight zoning regulations envelope.
Working closely with our clients, our team developed a unique design concept in which ultimately solved the challenge. By excavating the private quarters of the lower level slightly, we could place the kitchen, dining as well as living areas upstairs to capture views without exceeding our vertical limitations. Capping the house that has a planted roof enabled us to conceptually transpose the excavated earth as well as restore the structure’s ecological imprint.”
